New book on Holography

May 2013

The latest book about holographic display technology was published by CRC Press and was written by Hans Bjelkhagen and David Brotherton-Ratcliffe. PHOTONIA Melkweg Amsterdam

May 2013

From May 3th till June 9th cultural center �De Melkweg� in Amsterdam organized an exhibition about Rudy Berkhout and what he meant for holographical arts. The exhibition was opened with a presentation by the holography expert Walter Spierings, director of Dutch Holographic Laboratory. He gave the audience an introduction in holographic techniques and he explained in which ways the works of Rudie Berkhout are important for the holographic arts.

World Wide Largest Computer Generated Photoresist made by DHL

July 2012

In July we invested in a new high power laser and a high resolution Lcos beamer. With this laser we were able to produce the worlds largest 3D computer generated "full color" hologram of 30 x 30cm (12 x 12�) on photoresist. The quality of the holographic image was improved by the in house build projector with the new high resolution Lcos-panel.

New Large Holographic Table

April 2008

We just installed a large newport table measuring 600cm x 150cm x 96cm. This table will expand our capabilities in large format hologram production.

New Building

October 2007

A new building of 100m² was added to the main building. The new building will be used for R&D into new holographic systems.

High Efficiency Digital holoprinter now available!

Dutch Holographic Laboratory released the Digital Full Color holoprinter in 1997. This printer is an add on to your normal Holographic setup for 2D/3D graphics art. It allows you to make fully automated digital 3D computer generated holograms and multiple photo generated holograms. It also allows fully automated 2D/3D recording (without the intermediate step of using litho's) of holograms. The 1997 release could only print holograms upto 20x25 cm (8x10 inch). At the end of 1999 holograms upto 30x40 cm (12x16 inch) could be printed, due to a new Slitholder. The latest development in the Digital holoprinter is the use of a Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) in stead of a LCD screen for recording the holograms. This brings within reach the possibility to produce larger holograms with higher contrast. And the use of a DMD may lead to the use of new types of Holographic material. The new Digital holoprinter can also be used for reflection hologram Mastering...
